CALENDAR

WHATS HAPPENING?

Check out the calendar below to see what's going on at the church, and when there are private rentals.

Hebrews 10:24-25

MESSAGE FOR DEACON BOARD

After research, searching, and testing I have come up with 2 potential calendar options:

  • OPTION 1, the best paid option available in our scenario, and

  • OPTION 2, the best free option available.

Both options are shown below including pros and cons for comparison.

Please review and play around with both and advise:

  1. If you want option 1 or 2, and,

  2. And if you think it should be under the "about" section or have its own space on the menu bar.

Thanks

- Matt

OPTION 1 - BOOMTECH

Pros:

  • Has better overall look and feel from a site visitor standpoint.

  • Syncs with Events and also allows us to add private rentals that wont appear on homepage.

  • Will be easier and less effort for the person maintaining the data.

  • Site visitors can choose between calendar and agenda looks.

  • Additional functionalities (not available with option 2) such as the ability to search and print the calendar.

Cons:

  • Can only show 10 events on free plan.

  • Paid plan is $6.99 for a one-month subscription. But when subscribing annually the monthly cost is $5.99. Learn More. (Please note with purchase of plan, it would also remove the "Boomtech" branding.)

OPTION 2 - Google Calendar

Pros:

  • Free

  • Easy to use for those adding the events.

  • Could be tied to the hgcfinance2264@gmail.com GMail calendar, meaning Barb could easily add rentals.

  • Other GMail users could have access to the Calendar to add events. For example, Leona could be added, and she could add Youth events directly to the calendar.

Cons:

  • Limited design options available.

  • Limited functionality availability (i.e. no options for multiple views such as agenda)

  • Events are very basic looking when clicked on.

  • Would manually need to reenter each and every event, this would mean that there would be extra effort as well as higher potential for errors to be made when entering event details.
